Discographie of Johnny Mastro & Mama's Boys (USA).
They are origin from Long Beach/California, their residence since 2012
is New Orleans. The melting pot at the 'Ol Man River had some influence to their music
but it is still that dirty, raw and true music that makes you shiver and goes
through mark and bone. You can name them anything but not mainstream and they are no suit
wearing blues daddys.
A storm of extreme raw, elementary force of music is poured from the
stage over the audience when they start playing. Smokehouse tickles some
wonderful tunes out of his 6 strings and it is only a question of time when he
plays himself into a intoxication, and that's the moment the fans are waiting
for. Smokehouse is a real time bomb that
you can't stop. His slide guitar solo's are indescribable you got to hear
it. Meanwhile Johnny blows the complete
content of his lungs into the harp, bends down on his knees to press the last
drop of air out, people often say, he got a horse-lung. He is the Master on
Blues-Harp and an excellent songwriter.
The Rhythmus machine Dean and Rob (Christophe in Europe) deliver the thunder rolling,
solid ground for Johnny and Smoke. Grooves, shuffles and hard beats, all in one
person: Christophe. Brilliant, tight and melodic bass lines that’s Dean.
Detlev Hoegen (Crosscut Records) brought it to the point:”You can’t
compare this Band with any other existing band, their sound is unique“.
