Little Freddie King was born 19 July 1940 in McComb/Mississippi as Fread Eugene Martin. King is the cousin of Lightnin' Hopkins. At the age of 14 he moved to New Orleans where he performed in Juke Joints with friends Babe Stovall, Slim Harpo and Champion Jack Dupree. In 1969 he recorded his first album with Harmonica Williams. In 1976 he went on his first European Tour with Bo Diddley and John Lee Hooker. In 1995 he recorded his first album under his name "Swamp Boogie".
