Robert Pete Williams (USA)
Robert Pete Williams was born March 14, 1914, Zachary, Louisiana. Williams was an inmate at Angola Prison when he was discovered by folklorists Harry Oster and Richard Allen. Their recordings of his freewheeling, improvisational blues pieces spawned a fruitful and expansive recording career, which Williams enjoyed until his death on December 31, 1980.
