Rockin'XXL: Creedence Clearwater Revival & John Fogerty (USA)

CCR was an American Rock Band formed 1967 by John Fogerty (guitar/voc), Tom Fogerty (Rhythm guitar), Stu Cook (bass) and Doug Clifford (drums). John, Stu and Doug jined Forces 1959 as the Blue Velvets. Later, with Tom, they changed their Name to the Golliwogs. They released a few Singles but without success. In 1967 John Fogerty took over contrl, changed the Name to Creedence Clearwater Revival. From 1968 to 1970 they released 6 very successful Albums, toured wordlwide and where part of the Woodstock line-up in 1969. However, the other members of the band chafed under the Domination of John Fogerty and in 1971 his brother Tom left the band. In 1972 they released their last Album "Mardi Grass". The Album was no success and soon after the release the band split up. Tom Fogerty died in 1990. John went ona Long journey and a later successful solo Career. Stu Cook and Doug Clifford formed Creedence Clearwater Revisited in 1995 but with no success. John Fogrty is still releasing Albums and tours frequently.
