Dion (Dion DiMucci) (USA)

Dion Francis DiMucci, better known as Dion, was born on 18th July 1939 in The Bronx/NYC. Dion is a singer and Songwriter and was most popular in the late 50's with his band "Dion & The Belmonts". He funded the band in 1957 with friends from the Bronx: Carlo Mastrangelo, Fred Milano and Angelo D'Aleo. Their greatest Hit was "A Teenager in Love" in 1959. He scored 39 Top 40 Hits in the late 50's and early 60's, also with the Del Satins. Towards the mid 1960's his popularity waned. In the early 70's he changed his style and produced Songs with a more mature, contemplative Feeling. As from 2006 on he produced 3 Blues Albums. In 1989 he was conducted into the RocknRoll Hall Of Fame.
