Jo Ann Kelly (UK)

Jo Ann Kelly was a british Blues singer and guitarist. "Jo Ann Kelly was the only Brotish singer to earn their respect for her development of what they would be justified in thinking as their genre". She was Born 5th January 1944 in Streatham (London). In 1989 she had an Operation to remove a brain tumour, she died October 1990.
Jo Ann Kelly appeared on two Tony McPhee Albums (Me & The Devil, 1968 & I asked for water, she gave me Gasoline, 1969). She also appeared on 2 John Drummer Albums (John Drummer Blues Band, 1969 & Oobleedoobleejubilee, 1973).
Canned Heat and also Johnny Winter tried to recruit JA Kelly, but she stayed in the UK. In the early 1980's she was a member of the Terry Smith Band. JA Kelly had an extraordinary singing voice and played guitar in the style of Memphis Minnie and Charley Patton.
